INTELLECTUAL INTERCOURSE

It all begins with a small conversation while we were waiting for the opening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer matches, Mexico VS South African on a big screen of Merdeka Walk, Medan back in July. Out of the blue a friend of mine was complaining: “How it is difficult to find a date with combination of great physical appeals and intellectual quality”.

After several argumentation back and forth between me and the other three friends of mine somehow we came to the conclusions that most of the time we ended up dating with only one of the quality which mostly physical appeals since it’s more visual and easy to recognized than intellectual quality.

Then the other friend of mine who claimed himself as “twit-whore” – He is addicted to twitter and abuses other people twitters with his famous words, “numpang kayang” is raised an interesting term that got me thinking the whole night.

He said that the older he gets the more he needs the intellectual intercourse where his date does not only blow his “you know what” but also blow his minds, so he can experiences “the physical and intellectual Big Bang”. Wow that sounds too good to be true, huh?....

Later that night, alone in my room, after finished making my field trip report, it got me thinking about the word of “the intellectual intercourse” and just to satisfied my curiosity, I tried to look up that words in the dictionary to figure out the meaning of it.

The Intellectual intercourse is when two people engage in conversation, the flow of words between them closely resembles the series of actions one goes through during the act of sex.

The other interesting part was according to this dictionary, the discussion itself is the act of intercourse: stroking the partner's ego, taking enjoyment in the topic as it is discussed, or simply enjoying the company of the other and listening to them speak.

"Gee, I don't know that the discussion could be part of the act of intercourse, do you?".....

To rest my minds of this subject, somehow I come to my own conclusion …. Maybe the key to discover and experience the intellectual intercourse are not difficult after all, we just have to perform several the act of intercourse (“discussion”) with several people, because when we do the act of intercourse (“discussion”) we give ourselves an effort to get to know the person better and maybe one of those person are the right person for you to experience the intellectual intercourse.

Well, I haven’t try out this theory yet!!! So please do not try intellectual intercourse at home without parental guidance, I guess =)
